After the paper is pressed, the dryness of the paper is generally around 40%, and in modern presses, it can reach as high as 50%. The residual moisture must be evaporated and removed in the drying section of the paper machine. The evaporation process requires a large amount of heat energy, usually supplied in the form of steam, and the drying section generally consumes a relatively large amount of energy in the paper machine.
In the papermaking process, the role of the drying section is mainly to remove the moisture from the pressed paper, while improving the strength, smoothness, and sizing of the paper.
Requirements for Design or Selection of Drying Department
1. Evaporate the moisture in the paper and use minimal drying equipment. The equipment in the drying section is large and expensive, so the design of the drying section should pay attention to improving the evaporation rate while also considering increasing the evaporation rate without damaging the paper structure.
2. When evaporating moisture from paper, it is important to ensure the quality of the paper, especially its horizontal uniformity. Next are the surface properties, wrinkling, curling, and tensile strength of the paper.
3. The design of the drying section and its ancillary equipment must be able to reduce energy consumption. The target value is to evaporate 1kg of water with an energy consumption of 2960kJ.
4. The design of the drying section must ensure a high overall efficiency of the paper machine, mainly by reducing the breakage of the paper web in the drying section, as the drying section accounts for the majority of the paper machine breakage.

Heat exchanger is one of the necessary equipment in industrial production processes, often widely used in many industrial fields such as chemical, petroleum, power, machinery, metallurgy, steel, etc.
Air heat exchangers can reduce energy consumption for heating furnaces and other equipment. This equipment can recover and reuse a large amount of waste heat from flue gas, achieving the goal of saving fuel and reducing production costs. So steel rolling heating furnaces, forging heating furnaces, and other kilns will be equipped with air heat exchangers.
The use of air heat exchangers can improve efficiency by about 5-10%, recover investment costs in the short term, and customize equipment according to the actual needs and data of the industry.
As an energy-saving device, air heat exchangers have high applicability during operation, and the recovered waste heat can not only be directly returned to the process for application, but also used for heating or converted into electrical energy.
